Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Pradeep Undugoda says they are hopeful of resolving the powered milk crisis in the days ahead.
Speaking to NewsRadio, MP Undugoda said the import levy on powered milk has already been removed.
He said since traders have to pay large sums in importing powdered milk, the Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to remove the import levy.
He however acknowledged that there is a shortage of powdered milk and LP gas in the domestic market.
MP Pradeep Undugoda said they hope to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, he refuted claims that there is a shortage of fuel in the country.
