The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says the government has no plan to resolve teacher principal salary issues.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil said it has been a year since the government came to power with no positive resolution found.
MP Indunil said Minister GL Peiris claimed there is no special requirement for increasing teacher salaries adding their salaries will be increased through a common increment of all state sector employees’ salaries.
The Parliamentarian said the public voted for the present administration as they were misled by the Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour policy statement of the President which states that a solution to salary anomalies will be provided within six months.
MP Indunil explaining the stance of the SJB pertaining to the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University said they do not oppose the university adding however they are against its privatisation as it is unfair on students who enter universities through free education and competitive examinations.
