Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Kins Nelson says the present administration has failed to provide fertiliser to farmers despite the Maha season approaching.
Speaking to media in Polonnaruwa, MP Nelson said it has now been proven that the government is burdening the low income earners by increasing the prices of essential items daily.
The Parliamentarian said a cup of plain tea is Rs.25 while a bun is Rs.50.
He said the government that came into power with the votes of 6.9 million individuals, approved the 20th Amendment to the Constitution claiming the 19th Amendment was inadequate.
He said the all-powerful government is failing at every task adding it is now attempting to import rice.
MP Nelson said the Minister of Agriculture has claimed that organic fertiliser is available adding however organic fertiliser has not been produced anywhere.
He said fertiliser that has been produced is not up to standards adding the Sri Lanka Standards Institute has not issued a standard rating.
