Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says regardless of public sacrifices since the government came in to power, the government has in return awarded the public by creating a queuing era after forty years.
MP Premadasa said the government has set a Guinness World Record by increasing prices of goods and selling local resources.
Premadasa speaking at an event in Hambantota said the public is under pressure and are inconvenienced owing to the actions of the government.
He said the government claimed it does not have sufficient power to develop the country and sought to pass the 20th Amendment to the Constitution through conspiracies.
Premadasa said today the prices of all essential items have increased including gas, milk powder, cement, milk and plain tea and a packet of rice.
