Stocks of rice in possession of government-operated storages were released to the market today (12).
Accordingly, consumers will be able to purchase rice through Sathosa outlets, co-operatives, and other selected outlets across the country.
The Paddy Marketing Board decided to release stocks based on orders placed by respective outlets.
The Paddy Marketing Board said red and white kekulu and nadu rice will be released to the market.
Measures have been taken to provide a kilogram of red and white kekulu rice to the market at Rs.197 and a kilogram of red or white nadu at Rs.199.
The government is currently in possession of 43,000MT of paddy.
