The Government Medical Officers Association has called off the trade union action that was due be worked off today.
The union action was called off after Minister of health Keheliya Rambukwella provided solutions to their grievances during a discussion yesterday.
The GMOA said a decision was reached to resolve issues related to medical transfers and post-internship appointments without delay.
The GMOA statement added the Health Minister requested two days to resolve concerns over the ‘Effective Date’ of annual transfers and agreed to suspend the 2022 Annual Transfer Vacancies List that is currently in effect.
It was decided to grant appointments for internship by the 20th of October 2021.
The GMOA added a decision pertaining to union action will be reached on the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached yesterday.
