State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama says the government will introduce a programme called ‘Gemi Seriya’ in a bid to streamline buses plying along rural roads.
Speaking to media in Colombo, State Minister Amunugama said they have already devised the timetable for the ‘Gemi seriya’ programme.
The State Minister said the programme is launched to facilitate village folk to reach closest towns.
He said such buses will run between two smaller towns and will not transport passengers to major towns.
State Minister Amunugama noted buses between two smaller towns will in fact make services faster and efficient.
