Minister SM Chandrasena says claims that the change in the composition of gas cylinders, has led to gas leak explosions, cannot be accepted.
Speaking at a media briefing at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna this morning, Minister Chandrasena said the reasons behind the explosions will be revealed in the near future.
The Minister also vowed to compensate households that were damaged due to the explosions after the technical issue is first identified.
He said the government is regretful over the gas leak incidents adding that the cause must be determined.
Minister Chandrasena claimed that the government will be served justice.
The Minister commenting on the increase in the price of vegetables in the market said, the vegetable distribution process has several shortcomings which have led to the increase in prices.
Minister Chandrasena said a stringent process is not followed when vegetables are brought to one location from various parts of the island.
He stated that there is no shortage in the supply of vegetables for the fluctuation of prices, adding that both the consumer and the farmer must be protected.
