Fuel quota increased in view of the festive season; Quota for cars increased to 30L, Tuks to 8L

The existing fuel quota has been increased in view of the New Year festive season and will come into effect from midnight today.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The existing fuel quota has been increased in view of the New Year festive season and will come into effect from midnight today.

The President’s Media Division said, as previously planned, according to the increasing need for the festive season, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has ordered and received necessary fuel stocks.

The PMD said accordingly, it has been proposed to increase the fuel quota for three-wheelers from 5 litres to 8 litres while for motorcycle it has been proposed to increase from 4 litres to 7 litres.

The weekly fuel quota for cars and vans has been proposed to increase from 20 litres to 30 litres.

Furthermore, fuel quota for buses will be increased from 40 litres to 60 litres, lorries from 50 litres to 75 litres and for special purpose vehicles the quota will be increased to 30 litres from 20 litres.
