Four individuals have been arrested over the assault on activist Dilan Senanayake.
Police said following extensive investigations four suspects were arrested in relation to the stabbing reported on the 14th of December in Mirihana.
The Colombo Crimes Division also seized two knifes and a three-wheeler in the possession of the suspects.
Police said the suspects between 28 and 44 years, are residents of Dematagoda, Slave-Island, and Borella.
The suspects reportedly attended the people’s struggle daily, while a personal spat between Senanayake and the chief suspect over a female had led to the stabbing.
The suspects have been handed over to the Mirihana Police Station for further investigations.
