Former President Maithripala Sirisena says the country can be uplifted if all sectors work under a common national programme.
Speaking to media, the former President said financial specialists and politicians must come to a consensus to strengthen the national economy.
Former President Sirisena said the solution lies within a common development plan adding that the matter cannot be resolved within one or two days.
The former President stated therefore a long-term common plan is needed with a national agreement, including economic policies and matters related to education, health and agriculture.
Former President Sirisena added the country can only be uplifted through a common national agreement and programme.
