(NewsRadio); Former Member of Parliament J Sri Ranga has been further remanded until the 12th of May.
The order was issued by Vavuniya High Court Judge Mohamed Nihal.
Former MP Ranga was apprehended on the 17th of March for allegedly influencing witnesses in a cases field over an accident in Vavuniya in 2011.
Police said former MP Sri Ranga was arrested while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.
The Vavuniya High Court had previously issued a warrant to arrest and present former MP Sri Ranga in court for influencing and intimidating witnesses.
The warrant was issued in relation to a case pending in the Vavuniya High Court regarding the death of a Police sergeant in an accident in Vavuniya in 2011.
