Former Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley has been further remanded until the 14th of September.
The order for his remand was issued by Colombo Chief magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala this afternoon.
The former Governor was detained by the Criminal Investigation Department for close to five months under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, the Penal Code and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Azath Salley was arrested by the CID on the 16th of March, over a controversial statement he made on the 9th of March related to the Easter Sunday attacks.
