Earnings from tourist arrivals increase to USD 198 million in March

Sri Lanka’s earnings from tourist arrivals have increased to USD 198.1 million in the month of March.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Sri Lanka’s earnings from tourist arrivals have increased to USD 198.1 million in the month of March.

It is an increase of USD 28 million from February figures.

According to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, in March 2022, Sri Lanka received only USD 161.2 million through tourist arrivals.

Sri Lanka has generated an income of USD 529.8 million so far in 2023.

Meanwhile, tourist arrivals increased in March 2023 to 125,495, compared to 107,639 arrivals recorded in February 2023 and 106,500 recorded in March 2022.

Russia, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France remained the main source countries for tourist arrivals in March.

According to figures issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 335,679 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka this year.
