The Ceylon Teachers’ Service Union has requested teachers and principals to work towards their struggle to win over demands on salary anomalies instead of working according to second class political motives.
Chief Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe taking to social media today urged teachers and principals to refrain from bowing before politics and to continue to remain strong in the face of various threats.
Jayasinghe said the government appointed various Task Forces’ that he said failed to produce results.
He noted that teachers have a responsibility to ensure students are educated with schools reopening adding that children cannot be disregarded.
Jayasinghe claimed that teachers and principals must ensure a country that has knowledgeable children taking over politics in the country.
