State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe says there should not be any undue fear regarding the payment of government employee salaries or welfare benefits including Samurdhi.
Taking to Twitter today (10), the State Minister said priority is given to government employee salaries, pensions and welfare benefits schemes
He stated that despite the country’s economy being stable at present, Sri Lanka has not yet come out of the crisis completely.
State Minister Semasinghe said all required programmes to overcome the crisis is currently underway.
He noted that all mandatory and essential payments are being made by managing government revenue and expenditure.
Semasinghe added there shouldn’t be any undue fear over this.
In addition, he said the government is implementing an orderly and systematic plan to settle the bills due in consultation with the relevant line ministries.
