State Minister Dilum Amunugama says the regulation to transport commuters according to the number of seats in busses is 90 percent enforced.
State Minister Amunugama said a majority of buses owned by the Sri Lanka Transport Board and private buses are transporting commuters according to the number of seats while the public is also adhering to this regulation.
The State Minister speaking to media in Kandy however said instances of certain routes, especially during office hours, not adhering to the seat capacity rule were reported.
State Minister Amunugama said while they expected the seating rule to be violated, the public too has been adhering to guidelines.
