The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says the government has taken all legal action pertaining to the death of the 16-year-old girl at the residence of Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen.
Speaking at a media briefing today Parliamentarian Dilan Perera claimed the opposition has not yet taken any action to suspend MP Rishad Bathiudeen from the party.
MP Perera said under the current laws of the country, if a pollical party expels a Member of Parliament, the next person on the list will enter Parliament. He claimed the opposition is not keen on acting against MP Bathiudeen.
MP Perera said the government took prompt steps to arrest everyone at the residence of MP Bathiudeen, including his wife and produced before court.
