Depression likely to move to the western sea area by tomorrow

The Department of Meteorology expects the depression which entered through the east coast of Sri Lanka from Bay of Bengal to move to the western sea area of Sri Lanka by tomorrow (26).

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology expects the depression which entered through the east coast of Sri Lanka from Bay of Bengal to move to the western sea area of Sri Lanka by tomorrow (26).

The Met Department said accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur at times over Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-Western and Northern provinces.

Heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at some places. Several spells of showers will occur elsewhere.

Meanwhile, strong gusty winds of about 40-50kmph can be expected at times over country.

The general public has also been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
