COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Sri Lanka Customs says Puttalam District Member of Parliament Ali Sabri Raheem who was taken into custody at the Bandaranaike International Airport earlier today was in possession of 3.39kg of gold jewelry and gold biscuits worth Rs. 74 million.
Customs officials have also found 91 smart phones valued at Rs. 4.2 million in his luggage.
MP Ali Sabri Raheem was taken into custody this morning at the BIA for being in possession of a stock of undeclared gold.
He arrived at the BIA from Dubai.
Upon inspecting his luggage, Customs officials uncovered the stock of gold and the smart phones.
