The Ceylon Teachers Service Union has handed over a list of proposals to the National Institute of Education pertaining to education reforms.
Chief Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said the education system in the country should undergo a major overhaul.
He said they held extensive discussions in this regard with the Director General of the Institute Dr. Sunil Jayantha Nawaratna and other officials.
Jayasinghe said potential issues that could arise in future, when enforcing education reforms was also discussed including the practicality of the process.
Jayasinghe added the Union is not opposed to education reforms and will support all such efforts.
