The validity period of valid visas of all categories that were obtained by foreigners staying in Sri Lanka at present has been extended for 30 days from the 7th of October, till the 6th of November 2021.
The Department of Immigration and Emigration issuing a statement said only the visa charges related to this period will be levied for valid visas that expired during the 11th of May 2021 and the 6th of November, 2021 and any fine will not be levied.
• Instructions to Tourist visa holders for the endorsement:
Therefore, the visa holders can use one of the following methods to pay visa charges and get endorsed visa related to the extension of such visa. 1. To obtain visa online visiting https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/vs and paying the relevant charges or (up to a maximum period of 9 months since the date of arrival to Sri Lanka) 2. To depart from the island paying the relevant visa charges at the Airport if wish to depart the island before 06 November, 2021 or 3. To visit the office at Battramulla before 06 November, 2021 and get endorsed the visa on the Passport paying relevant charges.
• Instructions to Residence Visa holders:
The extension of the period of also up to 06 November, 2021 is also applicable to all valid residence visa holders. To get extended the also before that date, make an appointment contacting 0707101050 between 8.30am to 3.00pm on working days and get endorsed the visa visiting the office at Battaramulla and paying relevant charges before 06 November, 2021.
• General instructions and Fines:
Even though the period of visa was extended up to 06 November, 2021 due to travel restrictions among the provinces, such extension will not generally be made in the future. Since the permission is granted to visit the office at Battaramulla even during the period of travel restrictions among Provinces, all foreigners staying in this country shall get extended their visa before 06 November, 2021 as per the above instructions. Those who are staying in this country after such date without visa shall be subjected for the payment of the fine of US$ 500.
