Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says the vaccination card will be made mandatory in order to enter public places in the near future with the Attorney Generals’ instructions already received in this regard.
The Minister said he sought the advice of the Attorney General pertaining to the possibility of restricting entry to public places for those who have not been fully vaccinated.
Minister Rambukwella speaking to media at the Kandy National Hospital today said the Attorney General responded yesterday, adding that any individual who is not fully vaccinated will not be allowed to enter public places.
The Minister said they will not allow any individual to endanger the safety of other individuals and therefore reached the decision to make the vaccination card mandatory.
The Health Minister said the software for a mobile application has been developed for this purpose.
