Police conducted a special operation to inspect whether the residents of the Western Province are adhering to health guidelines.
The special operation was conducted between 11am and 1pm yesterday.
Police said the operation was focused on monitoring overcrowded buses, state of air-conditioned buses, individuals not wearing facemasks in a correct manner and consumer capacity at retail outlets.
478 police officers were deployed during the operation.
916 passenger buses were inspected during this operation while 173 air-conditioned buses and 1,220 shops were also inspected.
Police said operators of 421 buses and 60 air-conditioned buses and 495 shop owners were warned for not adhering to health guidelines.
