The revised PCR and COVID-19 test guidelines for inbound travellers will come into effect today.
The Ministry of Health last week further eased health guidelines for tourists who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Accordingly, fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to undergo a pre-departure or on-arrival PCR or Rapid Antigen Test when visiting Sri Lanka.
The new regulation will apply to persons who arrive in the island via airports and seaports. Accordingly, all travellers who have obtained the COVID-19 vaccine should carry a proof of vaccination in English throughout their travel.
Meanwhile, all children 18 years and below who have obtained at least a single dose of a recognised vaccine will be considered fully vaccinated if departed from abroad two weeks after the completion of vaccination.
According to the Ministry of Health all travellers, 12 years and above arriving in Sri Lanka who are not fully vaccinated should mandatorily carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test report in English done within 72 hours prior to embarkation or a Rapid Antigen Test report in English conducted within 48 hours prior to embarkation.
