Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath has requested the public to remain indoors at all times when the quarantine curfew comes into effect at 10pm today.
Speaking at a media briefing today, Dr. Herath said the final solution to containing the coronavirus is closing the country, and therefore requested the public to fulfil their duty by adhering to the law.
Dr. Herath said livelihoods will be affected by the quarantine curfew, adding however that this is the last resort in containing the coronavirus situation.
He added nothing further is left to be done if the virus cannot be contained through a lockdown as well.
Therefore, the Deputy Director General requested the public to stringently adhere to the quarantine curfew and urged those not part of essential services to remain at home.
