The Public Health Inspector’s Union of Sri Lanka has commended the public for heeding PHI requests last week for a self-imposed isolation, deserting many cities.
Speaking to media today, the Chairman of the Union Upul Rohana called on the public to continue following health advice in order to protect themselves from the pandemic.
Rohana said the daily coronavirus deaths and cases are increasing adding the only solution is to strictly adhere to health guidelines and self-isolate.
He said it is visible that a majority of the citizens are adhering to guidelines.
On a separate note, Upul Rohana called on all political parties to refrain from seeking political gain through the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and to support mitigation efforts by setting aside differences.
The Union Chairman said in order for politics to continue, a country and its citizens must remain.
