Health authorities have requested the public to obtain the COVID-19 booster dose at the earliest.
Speaking to media today, Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath said only three million people have thus far obtained the booster vaccine of the already fully vaccinated 13 million individuals.
He stressed a majority of individuals were refusing to obtain the booster dose due to misinformation.
Dr. Herath said many other countries have completed the fourth dose of the vaccine, adding that certain individuals in Sri Lanka have not obtained a single dose yet.
He hoped the misconceptions on vaccinations would improve.
