New health guidelines applicable until the 31st of August have been issued by the Director General of Health Services.

Accordingly, only one individual from a household will be allowed to leave the residence to purchase essentials and medicine until the 31st of August.

All pre-schools, schools, universities, higher education institutions and tuition classes must remain closed until further notice.

Spas, gyms, indoor complexes, malls, children’s parks and swimming pools should also remain closed while day-care centres have been instructed to be closed for two weeks.

The new health guidelines state the conduct of weddings and musical shows has been prohibited.

Meanwhile, group activities and events at places of worship have also been prohibited.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been imposed in relation to the functioning of groceries, retail outlets, supermarkets and banks.

Textile shops, mobile phone outlets, filling stations and construction sites can also function while adhering to health guidelines.

Based on the new guidelines, indoor dining at restaurants has been limited to 50 percent of the capacity while hotels, rest houses and guest houses can function at 25 percent capacity.

Taxi services and public transport services will be allowed to transport passengers according to seat capacity while only essential service workers are allowed to cross provincial borders.

Heads of Public and Private Departments and Institutions have been instructed to summon only a limited number of staff while they should also prevent summoning persons who have to cross provincial borders to attend work, where possible.

Meanwhile, no conferences, functions or promotional events are permitted until the 31st of August.

Apparel factories, agriculture and farming activities must be conducted while strictly adhering to health guidelines.

Health services should also be carried out by summoning only the required number of staff members.
