Sri Lanka recorded less than 700 COVID-19 cases for the first time in several weeks yesterday.

695 COVID-19 cases were identified yesterday increasing the country’s coronavirus infections to 579,134.

343 individuals earlier recovered from COVID-19 and were discharged raising recoveries to 547,182.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 17,218 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

Meanwhile, another 14 coronavirus related fatalities have been confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 14,734.
