The Assistant Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Samantha Ananda emphasises the importance of inoculating school-going children promptly.
He said a large number of students remain at home for over one and a half years due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Dr. Samantha Ananda said it is problematic, since students are the future of the nation and they should be given necessary education.
He said if vaccinating children will pave the way for schools to reopen, a decision must be taken to inoculate them promptly.
Dr. Ananda is of the view that the Pfizer vaccine doses to be received by Sri Lanka should be assigned to vaccinate the school-going students.
He said vaccinating students will help reopen schools promptly and thereby the students will receive necessary education.
Dr. Samantha Ananda said no one can deny the importance of protecting students from COVID-19 as they are the future of the country.
