The Ministry of Health will ease more coronavirus health guidelines that are in place, which will be announced tomorrow.
Speaking to media in Kandy yesterday, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said the home-based care system of coronavirus infected individuals is a success.
The Minister added more than 150,000 persons who underwent home quarantine after testing positive have recovered.
He said he implemented the programme shortly after being appointed as the Health Minister.
The Minister claimed that hospitals were not occupied to its maximum with COVID-19 patients owing to this programme.
Rambukwella said only one individual succumbed to the virus while part of the home-based care system while 1,460 persons were hospitalised.
Commenting on the suspension of the trade union action by health professions for 10-days, the Minister said the government has discussed and agreed to demands that can be met while the justice and injustice of such measures can be determined in future.
He claimed all justifiable demands were considered adding that the government has been understanding throughout the process.
The Health Minister said the government has understood the concerns of health professionals who have served the country immensely.
However, the Minster said the country too must continue to function.
