Over 350 coronavirus cases each have been recorded from the Gampaha and Colombo Districts yesterday.
The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country rose to 303,682 following the detection of 2,370 patients yesterday.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 396 COVID infections were reported from the Gampaha District, while 368 cases were identified from the Colombo District, 220 from the Kalutara District and 200 from the Galle District.
179 coronavirus patients were identified from Matale, 147 from Kandy, 138 from Badulla, 105 from Jaffna and 103 from Monaragala.
Meanwhile, 87 infections were recorded from Ampara, 71 from Ratnapura, 66 from Batticaloa, 59 from Kegalle, 46 from Matara, 36 from Kurunegala, 29 from Kilinochchi and 25 from Nuwara Eliya.
Furthermore, 19 virus infections were recorded from Polonnaruwa, eight from Anuradhapura, seven each from Hambantota and Trincomalee, five each from Puttalam and Vavuniya, two from Mannar and one infection from Mullaitivu.
41 individuals who arrived in the island from overseas recently also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
