Five COVID deaths & 93 cases confirmed yesterday

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 660,890 following the detection of 93 patients yesterday.

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 660,890 following the detection of 93 patients yesterday.

All cases were linked to the New Year COVID-19 cluster.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 7,312 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

Yesterday, 31 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 637,119.

Meanwhile, yesterday, another five coronavirus related fatalities were confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 16,459.
