Essential services and employees of other sectors exempted from curfew regulations can continue to function during the lockdown period.
Making a special statement, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva said existing curfew regulations will remain in place until 4am on the 6th of September.
The Army Commander said staff attached to Ports and Airports and those part of the apparel industry will be able leave for work, although the government earlier today announced that island-wide quarantine curfew will be extended by another week.
