The Opposition claims the public is blatantly violating curfew regulations at present.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna says although a stay at home order has been announced, more vehicles can be seen on roads than on an ordinary day.

He said however it is evident that the curfew is neither being followed nor enforced at present.
MP Rajakaruna also said even political programmes are being conducted by the government.
He said Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna leaders have informed SLPP party organizers to conduct political meetings despite the curfew.
MP Rajakaruna said last week they noticed Ministers CB Ratnayake and Dilum Amunugama conducting political meetings in Nuwara Eliya.
Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna also claimed there is a shortage of all products in the market at present.
He said initially only a gas shortage was reported but now the public is facing difficulties to purchase, rice, powdered milk, wheat flour, sugar and cement.
MP Rajakaruna said however the present government is implementing a pricing formula for essential commodities at present.
He said hoarding essential items, discovering such stocks and increasing the prices has become the pricing formula followed by the government.
Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna said due to the actions of the present administration the country has become bankrupt at present.
