The Ministry of Health has urged coronavirus infected individuals who are part of the home-based care programme to strictly adhere to guidelines issued by specialists.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Director of the Health Promotion Bureau of Sri Lanka Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa said specialist doctors are available around the clock through the hotline to provide health advice for those remaining at home after testing positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa said despite being asymptomatic, infected individuals should exercise maximum caution. He said COVID patients must check their temperatures for fever at least two to three times and must also monitor respiratory issues such as shortness of breath.
Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa said patients should not hesitate to call and obtain advice from experts through the hotline, at any time of the day.
