COVID-19 cases in the country rise to 656,041

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 656,041.

The Department of Government Information said 311 persons tested positive for the virus today.

Accordingly 20,758 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

Earlier today, 89 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 618,886.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll remains at 16,397.
