The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 630,599.
The Department of Government Information said 1,252 persons tested positive for the virus today.
Accordingly 19,076 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.
Earlier today, 304 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 595,649.
Sri Lanka’s coronavirus death toll is currently at 15,874.
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Sanath Nishantha has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
