Health units say despite the number of COVID-19 infections reducing, cases still exceeding 1,000 daily is unsatisfactory.
Speaking at a media briefing today Media Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hemantha Herath said failure to adhere to coronavirus guidelines could result in cases increasing once again.
Dr. Herath said COVID-19 cases reported yesterday also exceeded 1,000 adding that the current development is not entirely satisfactory.
Dr. Herath claimed that containing the spread of the virus is crucial and public contribution to this feat is equally important.
He noted that careless actions of the public will result in its repercussions being felt in 14 days.
