Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says all three doses of COVID-19 vaccines should be obtained in order to be considered fully vaccinated.
The Minister said individuals with two vaccine doses should obtain the booster jab to qualify as fully vaccinated.
The Minister said the vaccination card to enter public places will be made mandatory in the near future while necessary legal groundwork has been completed.
Minister Rambukwella added the relevant Gazette Notification in this regard is being compiled at present while an extensive study is underway into other related matters.
The Health Minister said steps will be taken to make the vaccination card mandatory in public places at the earliest, following the completion of work by the Ministry of Digital Technology into the code and application.
Minister Rambukwella also claimed that there are no plans for a third lockdown and if that happens the country will suffer an economic setback.
