Another shipment of 40 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen has arrived from India.
The Sri Lanka Naval Ship ‘Shakthi’ arrived at the Colombo harbour at midnight with the shipment of medical-grade oxygen from Chennai.
The vessel left the Trincomalee harbour for the Chennai port on the 17th August.
Meanwhile, the Indian Naval Ship Shakhti, a Fleet Tanker, arrived at the Colombo Port last evening, with a shipment of medical-grade oxygen ordered from the Indian government.
The Navy said the ship was carrying 100 tonnes of oxygen. The vessel had left the Visakhapatnam Port, India, on the 19th of August.
The ship manned by a crew of 158 will leave the Colombo part today carrying five empty containers which transported the consignment of medical-grade oxygen.
