Another 1,581 coronavirus cases have been added to Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 caseload.

Another 1,581 coronavirus cases have been added to Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 caseload.

The Ministry of Health said the cases were reported between the 1st and the 20th of January but were not added to the national tally due to tabulation issues.

Accordingly, the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sri Lanka has risen to 606,162.

At present, 13,786 coronavirus infected individuals are receiving treatment either at home or in designated facilities across the country.

Meanwhile, 249 persons have recovered from COVID-19 and have been discharged from hospitals during the past 24 hours, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 577,030.

Yesterday, another 16 coronavirus related fatalities were confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 15,346.
