Health officials say adults with pre-existing health conditions could be at risk of developing coronavirus-related complications and could even lead to death even if they have received the booster vaccine.
Speaking during a media briefing this morning, the Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said it is important for adults suffering from coronavirus to seek medical treatment immediately.
Dr. Herath said it is essential that individuals in the high risk category, or are 60 years or are suffering from pre-existing conditions to accurately identify if they have contracted COVID-19 and seek treatment.
