982 individuals test positive for COVID-19 today

982 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 thus far today.

Among today’s positive infections were five individuals who arrived in the island from overseas recently.

Accordingly, total coronavirus infections reported in Sri Lanka rose to 609,047.

328 individuals earlier recovered from COVID-19 and were discharged raising total recoveries to 577,642.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 16,005 persons are currently receiving treatment for the coronavirus at several facilities.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s coronavirus death toll is currently at 15,400 with the confirmation of 14 fatalities yesterday.
