The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 518,775 following the detection of 893 patients yesterday.
All of the cases identified yesterday were linked to the New Year COVID-19 cluster.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 47,726 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.
Yesterday, 597 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 458,085.
2,598 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
Meanwhile, yesterday, another 58 coronavirus related fatalities were confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 12,964.
