772 COVID cases detected in Sri Lanka yesterday

Sri Lanka’s coronavirus caseload rose to 576,966 yesterday, with the detection of 772 new infections.

Sri Lanka’s coronavirus caseload rose to 576,966 yesterday, with the detection of 772 new infections.

Two individuals who arrived in the island from overseas also tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 335 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries to 546,103.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 16,186 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

16 COVID-19 related deaths were also confirmed to have been reported on Tuesday, increasing Sri Lanka’s virus death toll to 14,677.
