680 COVID-19 cases were identified in Sri Lanka yesterday raising the country’s coronavirus caseload to 528,415.
679 infections were linked to the New Year cluster, while one individual who arrived from overseas also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
438 individuals were recorded as recovering and discharged yesterday raising coronavirus recoveries to 491,238.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 23,769 persons are currently receiving treatment for the coronavirus at several facilities.
Meanwhile another 31 persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus during the past 24 hours, increasing the country’s COVID-19 related death toll to 13,408.
