2,560 COVID-19 cases were detected in the country yesterday.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s coronavirus caseload has increased to 488,482.

All 2,560 were linked to the New Year COVID cluster. 

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 62,756 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

1,483 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals during the past 24 hours raising total recoveries to 414,295.

135 COVID-19 related fatalities were confirmed as reported on Sunday by the Government Information Department.

Accordingly Sri Lanka’s coronavirus death toll increases to 11,431.
