Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath says a favourable situation has not been witnessed pertaining to the number of COVID-19 cases that are being reported daily.
Dr. Herath was questioned by a journalist if the drop in daily positive cases reported as of late, can be considered as a green light towards reopening the country, said he does not believe so.
Dr. Herath said the coronavirus situation is not 100% acceptable.
He claimed the number of cases reported at present amidst quarantine curfew is still relatively high and similar to the COVID positive cases reported when the country was opened.
Therefore, Dr. Hemantha Herath said health regulations must be strictly followed.
